Most of the plants included in the second group should be trans-planted for best success during the spring months. Their hatof slow growth and inability to adapt themselves readily to new con-ditions of soil make them very liable to injury on account of drowningout because of excessive depth of planting, or injury from winterconditions. All of these types are apt to be extremely unsatisfactoryduring the first two years after transplanting, but when once they haverecovered from the shock of transplanting they will grow wonderfullwell.
