Under excellent care, good results may be attained by transplantingall plants during the fall planting season, or during the spring plantingseason. For the best results, however, it is advisable to plant sometypes during the fall planting season and other types during the springplanting season. The two groups A and B contain plants specifi-cally adapted for planting; some in the fall and some in the springGroup C contains a list of plants which transplant with extremlydifficulty, and can be transplanted with better success during the springmonths with the exception of the trailing arbutus listed in Group C-aThis plant is extremely difficult to transplant with any success at anyseason. Those who have had considerable experience with the trailingarbutus are of the general opinion that if it is taken up during themonth of July and moved with a goodly amount of soil about its root;together with some additional soil in which to plant it in the new loca-tion, some success may be assured.
